Janine McCarthy
Sign Language Interpretor
Janine was born and raised on the Island of Trinidad of the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She joined Diversity in May 2009 as the Sign Language Interpretor. At the age of 9, Janine visited a local school for the deaf and has since been possessed by a desire to learn more about sign language. She took what courses she could and became an interpreter at the church she attended as well as at the bank where she worked for 15 years. In December 2009, Janine also began interpreting at Suncoast MCC and is responsible for creating a "signing choir" as well as arranging sign language classes.
Hobbies: Dancing, cycling, reading, traveling and meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Her love of music has even given her experience as a DJ.
