Brooke Elias

Brooke was born and raised south of Pittsburgh, PA. She survived twelve years of Catholic School and earned degrees from Washington and Jefferson Colleges and the University of Georgia. Brooke served as an officer and medical entomologist in the US Army, working to prevent insect-born diseases like West Nile, encephalitis, and the hemorrhagic fever viruses during assignments in Maryland, Washington DC, and South Korea. After moving to lovely Sarasota in 1995, she began working in Sarasota Counties Natural Resources department. She has been the coordinator of the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection program since 2001 and is very heartened to have protected over 27,000 acres. Her parents, son and his fiancé are the sunshine in her life.
Hobbies: Native landscaping, ethnic and historic recipes, traveling and blues music.
