Martha Eckhart

Soprano II    (2008)

Martha was born and reared in New Albany, Indiana. After graduating from Indiana University, she taught for five years in the very same elementary school she attended as a student. Once she realized she was back where she started, she decided to get as far away as possible. Martha started teaching American military ‘Brats’, first in the Philippines for a year then in Germany for the remaining 29 years before retiring to Sarasota in 2002. Martha has been involved in music most of her life, either in choirs or amateur theatre productions. She is straight, single, and wouldn’t mind in Mr. Right were to come along, but, if not, it’s okay. Martha says that she is managing just fine on her own, but it would be fun with a friend.

Favorite Quote: "Reading is fundamental, and if more fundamentalists read there might be fewer of them." Tamar Myers
